This presentation will provide an overview on the benefits of a pooled fund study (PFS); The Wildlife Vehicle Collisions (WVC) Reduction and Habitat Connectivity Transportation Pooled-Fund Project TPF-5(358). Through the Federal Highway Administration pooled fund program, partners were able to maximize their contributions while focusing on topics shared across boundaries. This was a collaborative research project with numerous partners and researchers from both the United States and Canada with a common interest in reducing WVC’s for the safety of humans and wildlife as well as restoring habitat connectivity in landscapes fragmented by roadways. Contributing partners included Federal Highways Administration, Departments of Transportation from Alaska, Arizona, California, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, and Washington, the Ontario Ministry of Transportation, Parks Canada, and ARC Solutions.
