The Comprehensive Environmental and Climate Action Plan (CECAP) of the City of Dallas was developed to address current and future challenges related to climate change. One of the objectives of CECAP is to encourage fuel-efficient surface transportation and increase public access to Electric Vehicle (EV) charging outlets throughout the city. In this effort, Modern Geosciences, LLC (Modern) will be assisting the City of Dallas to identify most suitable locations for EV charging stations and analyze infrastructure costs associated with various different types of EV charging stations. The analysis will be based on proximity to highway traffic, proximity to EV residence and proximity to available infrastructure; with emphasis to proximity to low income and under developed communities for economic boost. . Modern will also analyze advancing innovative technologies and self-sustaining charging facilities. A matrix will be developed to rank the locations based on indirect benefits associated with economic boost to low-income communities, carbon footprint reduction, self-sustainability and reduced impact on ecology and environment.
The project is projected to be completed by March of 2023.
